Important:
In response to the ongoing labour disruption, Alberta Education and Childcare has announced that November 2025 diploma exams are optional.
This applies to students across Alberta who are currently enrolled in a diploma course or registered to rewrite a diploma exam. While some students will be exempt from writing, others are still required to write.
Affected students and their families will have received a letter through SchoolMessenger outlining the next steps. If you have not received that letter or have questions or concerns, please email alternativeeducationprograms@ecsd.net
About Diploma Exams:
Alberta Education administers Diploma Exams throughout the school year. These exams are an important part of student assessment and currently account for 30% of the final course mark.
Key Information for Students:
- Students writing a diploma exam for the first time will be automatically registered.
- Students rewriting an exam must register and pay the rewrite fee through their myPass.alberta.ca
- A valid photo ID (e.g., school ID, driver’s license, passport) is required to write the exam.
- Arrive at least 30 minutes early to the exam location.
